LG G Watch R Revealed Ahead of IFA Event in Berlin


After the release of a teaser clip earlier this week, LG has finally unveiled its newest Android Wear powered smartwatch called the G Watch R. Unlike the first LG G Watch, this new wearable features a circular display the same as Motorola's Moto 360. 

LG said that apart from Google's Android Wear apps, the G watch R will also come with LG's home grown apps a set of sensor apps along with it such as Gyroscope, Barometer, Heart Rate Monitor and Accelerometer. The device is enclosed in a stainless steel frame and uses 100% of its 1.3-inch P-OLED Display for functions unlike the Moto 360.

As for other specs, the display sports a 320x320 pixel resolution and powered by a Snapdragon processor clocked at 1.2GHz paired with 512MB of RAM. Internal storage offers 4GB of space. Like its first predecessor, LG G Watch R is IP67 Certified which means the device is water and dust resistant.

Right at this point, there is no word on the pricing yet but the Korean company said it will start rolling out the new smartwatch in key markets in the fourth quarter of the year.Yet we still to see more of the device at the IFA Event in Berlin next month.
