Superman 2 sequel officially called Man of Tomorrow will arrive July 2027
So we just got our first dose of Superman live action movie this year from director James Gunn starring David Corenswet as Superman and Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luther. I personally loved the movie and now looking forward to upcoming movies from this new DC universe that James Gunn is working on.
And just today, James Gunn just revealed the official title for his next Superman film and it will be formally called Superman: Man of Tomorrow. Not only that, the director also revealed its exact release date - July 9, 2027. Yeah, just about two years from today.
Apart from Man of Steel, Man of Tomorrow is also one of those classic names that Klark Kent aka Superman has in the comics. And if I am not mistaken, this is the first time Man of Tomorrow will be used in the big screen as part of its official title.
As you can see in the second image above, James Gunn made the announcement by posting it on his X account. Not only him, even David Corenswet and Nicholas Hoult also posted on their respective platforms confirming the announcement. And with that out of the way, it is also indirectly official that the two will definitely reprise their roles in the upcoming sequel.
Superman: Man of Tomorrow will be part of the DC Universe or DCU that James Gunn's currently working on. It will be a direct sequel to this year's Superman and will follow the release dates of Supergirl that is slated to hit cinemas on June 26, 2026 and Clayface on September 11, 2026.
In addition to that DCU will also have its TV series such as Lanterns to be released in early 2026 and The Batman Part II in October 2027.
I Hope you are doing great, cheers!
