OPPO A77 Now Officially Announced

The Chinese electronics company OPPO has just unveiled another Selfie Expert smartphone offering through its Taiwanese website. The device is officially called A77 and it sports specs and features almost similar to the recently launched OPPO F3 phone - minus the dual front facing camera setup.

The OPPO A77 does look pretty similar to its predecessors and it's kind of hard to distinguish from the bunch. That design implementation may or may not like by many OPPO fans around the globe, but to me I think that's fine, it is not an ugly design after all.

Upfront, the OPPO A77 offers a 5.5-inch display with Full HD 1080p resolution. Inside it are the octa-core MediaTek MT6750T processor with 4GB of RAM and an internal storage of 64GB which is expandable via microSD card up to 128GB. The phone also runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with OPPO's own ColorOS UI on top.

As for the camera department, again there is now dual camera setup implementation on this device, but the front shooter sports a 16MP snapper with f/2.0 aperture for better low light performance. On the rear side is a 13MP camera with PDAF and LED Flash. See more specs below.

As of posting, the OPPO A77 will be available for pre-order starting May 19, 2017 in Taiwan for an asking price of NTD 10,990 or about Php18,000 in Philippine currency. That sounds more expensive than the current F3 device which carries dual front facing camera for only Php16,990.

There is no word yet if this new OPPO smartphone is going to hit the Philippine market soon. But judging on its specs and the Taiwanese pricing, I think it is much wiser to get the F3 variant than this one.
