Star Wars Episode VIII is Officially Called "The Last Jedi"
2017 is an exciting year for all the Star Wars fans around the globe. This is because the next installment to the franchise, the Episode VII, will officially drop this December in cinemas worldwide. And today, we fans heard a big update from the upcoming movie. Lucasfilm has just revealed the official title for the said eighth episode, it's going to be called STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI.
In addition to the official title, Lucasfilm did not reveal more information on the film except for the caption that accompanied the movie poster.
"It's official. STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI is the next chapter of the Skywalker saga. This December."
That being said, the next question that dominates the fandom right now is who this title is referring to. The most easy guess of course is Luke Skywalker himself. He was actually mentioned as the "the last of the Jedi" in the Start Wars: The Force Awakens opening crawl. However some fans can't really help but speculate more as the word "Jedi" is also used in plural form.Whether it's Luke or some other hiding Jedi, we will know this December. Technically, for now, our last Jedi is none other than Luke Skywalker who is now a Jedi Master and is about to train Rey with the use of the Force (and become a Jedi as well?).
Another interesting thing that comes with this title announcement is the font color that was used in the Star Wars logo. It's in RED! And fans are suggesting this could only mean one thing, and it's not good. Previous installments that used red font were the Return of the Jedi and the Revenge of the Sith which both have the darkest plot of their respective trilogies.
I just can't wait to see this one anymore and see what's to take place right after the event of Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
I Hope you are doing great, cheers!
