Dual-OS CloudFone Epic 8.9 and Epic 7.1 Tablets Released

The local electronics company CloudFone has just released two new tablets that sport dual-boot technology, this is the first in the local tech scene from local players. Meet the CloudFone Epic 8.9 and Epic 7.1 devices.

Both slates run Android 4.4 Kitkat and Windows 8.1 operating system. Take note, that is Windows 8.1 and not Windows Phone 8.1, which means it is the same software used in desktop and laptop computers. And that is something I really look forward to experience in this device. This also means that I can take my personal apps on Android platform and any work-related files and documents with me anytime anywhere and while on the go with these Epic tablets.

Apart from dual-boot system, the two slates also have the same specs like a 1.8GHz quad-core Intel Atom processor, 5MP and 2MP camera configurations, USB OTG support and WiFi connectivity support. Seems like a cellular or 3G connection is not available on this one, but that's fine to me.

Like the names tell us, the Epic 8.9 will have an almost 9-inch of Full HD display while the Epic 7.1 will be a 7-incher slate but instead of Full HD, there will be 1280 x 720p resolution, still very clear to the eyes. The bigger slate has the bigger RAM (2GB) than the smaller sibling which only has 1GB but still acceptable.

What we do not know yet is if these hybrid tablets will support microSD card for additional memeory should the default 32GB is not enough. And we are dying to know how big the batteries would be for each of the devices, which i know will have a big factor for its attractiveness aside from the dual-OS support. We have already reached out to CloudFone but still got no response.

The image above tells us that the Epic 8.9 will be for Php8,999 and the Epic 7.1 will have a Php5,999 price tag. These are outdated prices as the new asking price according to MyrnaRoman.com those will be Php7,999 and Php4,999 for Epic 8.9 and Epic 7.1 respectively.
