Starmobile Knight Vision Unveiled, Comes with Digital TV Receiver

Starmobile has returned with a new Knight smartphone. The local company just unveiled the Knight Vision offering not just head turner specs and less than Php10k price tag but also a new feature that is first to be seen on an Android smartphone from a local tech scene. It comes built-in with Digital TV receiver.

The Starmobile Knight Vision smartphone is definitely the first smartphone that comes with Digital TV receiver right out of the box. Of course we have seen some other smartphones and feature phones before that have capability of streaming TV channels but all of them were using the analog TV signal and the viewing experience is not that good. On the Knight Vision, Starmobile is talking about digital signal which promises to deliver images and audio with crispier and clearer quality.

The National Telecommunications Commission has ordered TV channels in the Philippines to adapt digital broadcasting in the next 3-4 years. And as of March of this year there are about 10 free channels that have switched to digital broadcasting and that includes ABS-CBN and GMA networks.

“We are proud to introduce the KNIGHT Vision as we believe that DTV technology presents the biggest change in TV viewing ever,” said Starmobile Product Development Head Michael Chen. “Mobile DTV is bigger than the introduction of color and HD broadcast combined.” he added.

Aside from the Digital TV or DTV feature the Starmobile Knight Vision comes with, it also features specs that are very attractive especially its camera configurations. The back camera is pegged at 13MP resolution and powered by advanced camera technologies like autofocus, Sony IMX Exmor Sensor, LED flash and Optical Image Stabilization. That should be more than enough to provide the best user experience possible. The front camera has 8MP resolution and also capable of autofocus feature. The Starmobile Knight Vision is set to be released in mid-April for an asking price of Php9,990.
