Xiaomi Redmi 1S Now Official in the Philippines Through Lazada

Starting September 4 (noon), Pinoy users can start buying the Xiaomi Redmi 1S smartphone through Lazada online store for Php5,599. This is one of Xiaomi's latest smartphone offerings to hit the Philippines starting next month which packs very good specs for its price tag. During the company's recent event in the country headed by Hugo Barra to announce its availability, one of questions asked was if the Xiaomi Philippines has plans of having a physical store in the country, the answer was no. 

The answer was "no" and that is because one of Xiaomi's goals is to boost e-commerce in the country and also keep their devices prices affordable by eliminating the cost of additional marketing and middlemen fee something like that. So no wonder why Xiaomi keeps on selling their gadgets through this site.

Going back to the device, the Redmi 1S offers a 4.7" HD IPS Display with resolution of 1280x720 pixels and 312pixels per inch (ppi). The screen is also protected by a Dragontrail Glass so having it scratched is not going to be a problem. Under the hood is a common Quad-core processor by Snapdragon 400 SoC clocked at 1.6GHz, 1GB RAM and a built-in 8GB storage. User can still have mircoSD card on this device up to 32GB of size. Then their is the 8MP rear camera which sports autofocus and LED flash and a 1.6MP front facing snapper. Check out other specs listed  below. 

Again Lazada will start selling the Xiaomi Redmi 1S in the noon of September 4, unfortunately there was no mention of initial number of units to be sold on that day so if you plan to buy one I suggest you better be in front of your computer or on Lazada Philippines website before the 12PM strikes.
